Elo and CFF Points (CP)
CFFCup has two kinds of points. Elo measures skill: it only changes when you play an Elo-rated tournament. CP (CFF Points) measures how much you play: every match gives some, a win gives more.
⭐ Elo: skill
From official tournaments and those an admin rated for Elo. Win and it goes up, lose and it goes down; beating a stronger opponent earns more.
⚡ CP: activity
From challenges, Play now, player-run tournaments and team matches. Win +3, draw +2, loss +1: points are only added, never taken away.
⭐ How Elo works
- Everyone starts at 1000. My Team and Basic Team each have their own Elo.
- Beating a stronger opponent earns a lot, beating a weaker one a little; losing to a weaker one costs more.
- The deeper the round, the more a match is worth. The loser is only weighted like an early round, so losing a semi-final doesn't cost more than losing early.
- A win on penalties earns less than a win in normal time. A group-stage draw splits the points.
- A walkover win (the opponent didn't show) counts as a 3-0 win.

Examples
- Two players on 1000 Elo, group stage: win +10, loss −10.
- Two players on 1000 Elo, the final: win +25, loss −10.
- 1000 beats 1200 in the group stage: the winner +13.7, the loser −13.7.
Tiers
Each tier is 100 Elo. Your profile shows how many points you need for the next one.
👥 Teams have their own Elo too, from Elo-rated team tournaments. The members' own Elo doesn't change with team matches.

Where to earn CP
- Challenge another player, or go to Play now to find someone free right now.
- Play player-run tournaments (run by players, not rated for Elo).
- Team matches: CP goes to the team and to every player in the lineup.
🛡️ No farming
- The same two players (or teams) get CP for at most 3 challenges against each other in 24 hours.
- A player who doesn't show gets no CP. A solo challenge settled as a walkover gives CP to neither side.
- CP is one score across all platforms, not split by My Team or Basic Team.

Why did I win but get so little Elo?
Your opponent's Elo was much lower, so the win was expected. Beating a stronger player earns more.
Do challenges count for Elo?
No. Challenges and Play now only give CP. Elo only changes through Elo-rated tournaments.
Do player-run tournaments count for Elo?
Not by default: they give CP. An admin can rate one for Elo or make a trusted one official.
Can I lose CP?
No. Every match adds some, even a loss.
